My co-founder Jack Zenger made a strong case in his Forbes column on Extraordinary Performers that it’s not only the members of the company in the C-suite who need to develop leadership skills. In virtually every business there are also a number of individual contributors (those without direct managerial reports) whose contributions and influence within the company make them strong candidates for extra developmental focus as well.
